Connecting Stripe Express
Barkway integrates with Stripe Express so you can accept card payments directly from your invoices. Setup is fast, payouts go straight to your bank, and Barkway never touches sensitive card data.

Card payments with Stripe Express are not available yet.
We’re finishing final testing and will open a Beta soon — connection will be enabled once the Beta goes live.
Why use Stripe?
- Pay by Card button on every unpaid invoice.
- Automatic status updates – invoices flip to Paid when Stripe confirms the transaction.
- No PCI headaches – payments are processed entirely by Stripe.
- Payouts straight to your bank account, on Stripe’s standard schedule.
How to connect
- Go to Settings → Payments.
- Under Card Payments, click Connect with Stripe.
- Complete the Stripe Express onboarding form (business info, bank details, ID checks).
- When done, you’ll be redirected back to Barkway.
You’ll then see:
- Stripe Express Connected badge
- A Manage Account button to update your Stripe details
- A Revoke button if you want to disconnect
Using card payments
- Once connected, all new invoices will show a Pay by Card button on the public invoice page.
- When a client pays:
- Stripe processes the payment securely
- Barkway updates the invoice status to Paid automatically
- The booking becomes locked
- The client receives a thank you notification with the paid invoice link
Refunds
- To refund a card payment, log in to Stripe Express and process it there.
- Barkway won’t automatically sync refunds yet – update the invoice status manually if you issue one.
Pro tips
- Make sure your Business Country in Settings matches your Stripe account.
- Test payments with a low amount first to confirm setup.
