Editing a booking

Editing a booking in Barkway works almost exactly the same way as creating one — the difference is that all the fields are already filled in with the booking’s details. You can change the pet, groomer, services, date, time, notes, discounts, or deposits as needed.


Key details

  • Pre-filled fields
    All details from the booking show up so you can adjust what you need without starting from scratch.

  • Booking status
    You can only edit bookings that are in Scheduled or In Progress. Once a booking is marked Completed, it is locked and can’t be edited.

  • Deposits after edits
    If a deposit has already been paid and you change the services or price, the original deposit amount will still be used and remain marked as paid. This avoids confusion and keeps your payment records consistent.

  • Service pricing
    Barkway stores service prices at the point the booking was first created.

    • If you leave the services unchanged, the original stored price is kept.
    • If you remove or change a service, the price will be recalculated using your current service pricing, and the original locked-in price will be lost.

  • Double-check services before saving changes so your invoice will be accurate later.
  • Use notes to record any changes discussed with the client — it keeps everyone on the same page.
  • If you need to make adjustments after completion, you can regenerate the invoice from the View Booking screen instead.
