Your first booking

This is the big one — your very first booking in Barkway. 🎉

Let’s walk through it step by step so you can see how quick (and painless) it really is.

Create a booking​

  1. From the top navigation, click New booking.
  2. Choose the pet.
  3. Add one or more services. The price and duration calculate automatically.
  4. Pick the date and time slot. Barkway will make sure it fits within your schedule.

Deposits and discounts​

  • If you require a deposit, Barkway will show the default amount or percentage.
  • You can adjust the deposit for this booking if you need to. Or just don't use it, we're flexible round here.
  • Add a discount if you’re running an offer or giving a loyal client a little thank-you.
tip

Barkway remembers whether a deposit is fixed or percentage-based, so your numbers always add up.

Notes​

  • Add any special instructions (like “dog can be nervous, allow extra time”).
  • These notes are saved with the booking so you’ll always see them when you need to.

Status​

  • New bookings start as scheduled.
  • You can later update them to in progress, completed, or cancelled as the groom moves along from the View Booking screen.

Why it matters​

  • Keeps your calendar organised.
  • Totals and timings are handled automatically.
  • Deposits and discounts are applied with no extra effort.
